Dr Anja Kriegeskotten

Dr Anja Kriegeskotten is a psychiatrist based in Brendale, Brisbane, Queensland. With over 20 years of experience, she is dedicated to providing quality mental health care to her patients. Dr Kriegeskotten is fluent in both English and German, allowing her to effectively communicate with a diverse range of patients.

Dr Kriegeskotten has a special interest in trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders. She believes in incorporating alternative therapies into her practice and is trained in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAGALA model). In her office, she works alongside her therapy dog Romeo to provide a calming and supportive environment for her patients.

Throughout her career, Dr Kriegeskotten has gained extensive experience working with various population groups including asylum seekers and refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, military and veterans, and non-English speaking individuals. She understands the unique challenges these groups face and tailors her treatment approaches accordingly.

Dr Kriegeskotten has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, family therapy, mindfulness, obsessive-compulsive disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, sexual assault/abuse treatment, and supportive psychotherapy.

She offers a range of services including opinion and report (MBS item 291), shared care, and weekly psychotherapy. Dr Kriegeskotten is also experienced in providing telehealth consultations, making her services easily accessible to patients.
