Dr Andrew Ashton is a dedicated and experienced consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in the field. Based in Orange, he provides outstanding care to patients in the Central West region. Dr Ashton is a skilled surgeon specializing in orthopaedic surgeries of the hip, foot, knee, trauma-fracture, and shoulder. He is associated with Dudley Private Hospital in Orange.
Dr Ashton obtained his medical degree from the University of Newcastle and completed his specialist training in Orthopaedics through the Sydney and NSW Advanced Training scheme, achieving FRACS. He gained valuable experience working in various specialty centers in the United Kingdom, including the New Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Royal Devon Hospital in Exeter, King Edward VII Hospital and St John and St Elizabeth Hospital in London. He also completed a Travelling Fellowship in the United States, visiting renowned specialty centers such as the Mayo Clinic, UCSF, AAOS, AANA, SCOI, and Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr Ashton has special interests in osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, degenerative tendon disorders to the shoulder, bunions and foot disorders, sports injuries, knee, shoulder, ankle, fractures, and hip. He is committed to providing the best possible care to his patients and helping them recover and return to their daily activities promptly.
Outside of work, Dr Ashton enjoys spending time with his family on their small farm. He is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys activities such as biking, tennis, cricket, rowing, and planning family travel. Rugby is another sport close to his heart, and he enjoys following it during his leisure time.
