Dr Ahmad Alrubaie is an experienced senior consultant gastroenterologist based in Bankstown, Sydney, Australia. With a primary practice in Bankstown and affiliation with Southern Highlands Private Hospital, Dr Alrubaie is dedicated to providing exceptional gastrointestinal care to his patients.
Having obtained his MBCHB qualification and FRACP certification, Dr Alrubaie has been practising medicine since 1996. He has a strong interest in gastroenterology, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, and general and therapeutic endoscopy. His expertise extends to small bowel diseases, anaemias, bleeding, motility and functional disorders, GORD, and liver disorders.
Dr Alrubaie's special interest lies in small bowel endoscopy techniques, including capsule endoscopy, double balloon enteroscopy, and spiral enteroscopy. He underwent advanced gastroenterology training at Westmead and Liverpool hospitals, further enhancing his skills through postgraduate endoscopic training at Yamamoto Endoscopy unit in Jichi University, Tokyo, Japan.
In addition to his work at Southern Highlands Private Hospital, Dr Alrubaie serves as a visiting medical officer (VMO) at Bankstown Hospital, Liverpool Day Surgery, and Bankstown Day Surgery. He is actively involved in teaching, acting as a senior lecturer at the University of NSW. Dr Alrubaie also contributes to the education of aspiring gastroenterologists as an Educational Supervisor and Examiner at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
