Dr Yvonne Zissiadis

Dr Yvonne Zissiadis is a very skilled Radiation Oncologist with expertise in the treatment of cancer. Based in Joondalup, Perth, Western Australia, she has been providing exceptional care to patients for over three decades.

Dr Zissiadis obtained her MBBS degree and completed her general medical training in Western Australia before undertaking her Radiation Oncology training at the esteemed Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in Victoria. She further honed her skills by joining the Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital in New South Wales as a clinical and research fellow.

With a strong commitment to advancing her knowledge, Dr Zissiadis pursued a clinical fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA in 1999. This opportunity allowed her to expand her expertise and gain valuable insights from leading experts in the field.

Since then, Dr Zissiadis has been a dedicated Consultant Radiation Oncologist at PRO, where she has made significant contributions to the field. In 2011, she joined Genesis Cancer Care WA and was appointed as the Site Director of the Royal Perth Hospital Radiation Oncology Department. Her exceptional leadership and clinical skills have earned her a respected position in the medical community.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Zissiadis has a strong passion for clinical research. She currently serves as the chair of the GCC Education and Research Subcommittee, actively contributing to the development of new treatment protocols and advances in the field of radiation oncology. Additionally, she sits on the research committee of the Breast Cancer Research Centre, further emphasizing her commitment to advancing breast cancer research.

Dr Zissiadis has received multiple conjoint lectureships at the University of WA and Edith Cowan University, reflecting her expertise and esteemed position within the academic community. She was appointed the Clinical Lead for the Upper GI cancer collaborative by the WACPCN in 2012 and is also a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand Education Committee.

With a particular interest in breast, upper GI, colorectal cancers, and lymphoma, Dr Zissiadis is deeply invested in improving patient outcomes. Her research interests include exploring patient satisfaction and the impact of exercise on cancer patients, aiming to enhance the holistic care provided to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Dr Zissiadis remains actively connected with the global medical community as a member of the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Research Group, European Society of Radiation Oncology, and American Society of Radiation Oncology. By collaborating with experts worldwide and sharing knowledge, she stays at the forefront of advancements in radiation oncology, ensuring her patients receive the best possible care.
