Dr Young Yu

Dr Young Yu is a highly skilled and knowledgeable Cardiologist based in Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia. He is associated with St George Private Hospital and has been practicing medicine for over 15 years.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Dr Yu obtained his medical degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales. He then pursued his general physician training at St George Hospital in Kogarah. Following this, he completed his specialization in Cardiology at Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick.

Driven by his passion for research and continued learning, Dr Yu embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Heart Research Institute, and The University of Sydney. He focused his research on Interventional Cardiology, specifically looking into ways to improve the compatibility and safety profile of coronary stents.

Dr Yu has made significant contributions to the field of cardiology through his research. He has already developed a unique new stent coating that has shown promising results in reducing the risk of thrombosis in stents. His ultimate goal is to translate his research findings from the laboratory to improve patient care and outcomes.

In order to enhance his expertise, Dr Yu is currently undergoing further training at the prestigious Harvard Medical School in the United States. He is expected to return to CHI in 2015, where he will continue his work as a Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist.
