Dr Vivek Gupta

Dr. Vivek Gupta is an accomplished cardiologist with a proven track record of success in the field of cardiology. He completed his medical degree from one of India's leading medical schools in 2004 and later earned a Master’s degree in Public Health from Deakin University in Australia in 2007. Dr. Gupta then completed his basic physician training at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne in 2013, followed by Advanced Training in Cardiology at Launceston, where he gained diverse experience.

Dr. Gupta recently completed a two-year Interventional Fellowship at Monash Heart, Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, one of the most prestigious Interventional training programs in Australia. He is highly skilled in using the latest interventional techniques and equipment within the cath lab. Dr. Gupta's kind, gentle, and empathetic approach has earned him numerous accolades in dealing with patients with a wide range of medical issues, including chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, syncope, and rhythm abnormalities such as atrial fibrillation.

With extensive interventional training, Dr. Gupta possesses a broad array of skills, including diagnostic coronary angiography (largely performed radially) and fractional flow reserve (FFR), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for hemodynamic and anatomic evaluation of questionable coronary lesions. He is extremely proficient in debulking heavily calcified lesions through rotational artherectomy, ensuring the quick and speedy recovery of his patients.

In addition to his interventional expertise, Dr. Gupta employs various testing modalities such as treadmill stress tests, stress echocardiograms, echocardiograms, multi-slice cardiac CT, holter monitoring, and long-term loop recorders to provide comprehensive evaluation and management of complex cardiac illnesses.
