Dr Toy Tancharoen

Co-founder of LYLA Dermatology and LYLA Aesthetics, Dr. Toy is a specialist Dermatologist with fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Combining her love of medical dermatology with her passion for aesthetic medicine, Dr Toy brings a unique blend of skills allowing her to provide care for all of her patients’ needs.

Born in Thailand, Dr. Toy completed high school at the prestigious British International School, Bangkok Patana School. Achieving one of the highest marks in the highly competitive International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Dr. Toy was able to complete her medical degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2012 and commencing internship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.

Having decided on a career in Dermatology at an early stage, Dr. Toy focused her attentions on attaining a training position in this extremely competitive specialty field - completing several rotations in the Dermatology Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, a Masters of Public Health (University of Sydney), and most importantly, taking a year off in 2014 to have her first child, Charlie.

Dr. Toy began her specialist Dermatology training in 2017, rotating through all of the major Dermatology departments in Victoria and successfully completing her fellowship exams in 2021. During this time she was able to combine her clinical duties, studies and giving birth to her second child, Lyla, in 2019.

With a long standing interest in aesthetic medicine, Dr. Toy seeks to combine this interest with her knowledge of medical dermatology to ensure that her patients are cared for with the utmost respect and attention. Her competitive nature and many years spent achieving excellence in all her pursuits has ensured that LYLA Dermatology and LYLA Aesthetics will remain at the forefront of medical dermatology and aesthetic medicine in Melbourne and Australia.

Dr. Toy is the current Secretary of the Victorian Faculty of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, and holds a public appointment at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where she maintains an active interest in teaching, research and education. She takes great pride in her profession and in the individualised service she provides to each of her patients. Importantly, in her time off, Toy cherishes time with Charlie and Lyla, and her husband, Ed.
