Dr Harini Bala

Saturday appointments available. Dr. Harini Bala, co-founder of LYLA and LYLA Aesthetics, is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) and a Mohs surgeon. Dr. Bala received her medical training at several leading tertiary hospitals in Melbourne, including St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (VCCC), and Austin Hospital. She also completed specialized training at the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital and gained experience in contact dermatitis and transplant dermatology at the Skin Health Institute, Melbourne. After her extensive training in Melbourne, Dr. Bala worked in private practice dermatology in Brisbane, Queensland. This experience broadened her approach to managing both the medical and aesthetic needs of her patients. Her passion for delivering personalized patient care led her to co-found LYLA Dermatology, with the goal of creating a bespoke medical practice. Dr. Bala's expertise spans all areas of medical and aesthetic dermatology. She is committed to fostering an inclusive and compassionate environment for her patients, envisioning LYLA Dermatology as a comprehensive center where patients' needs are addressed in a holistic manner. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Bala remains dedicated to research and has published several papers in national and international journals. Her work in contact dermatitis earned her the John Fewings Prize at the Australasian Scientific Meeting. Her professional interests include skin cancer management, Mohs surgery, hair disorders, general dermatology, and aesthetic medicine, with a focus on lasers, dermal therapies, and injectables.
