Timothy Brighton is a distinguished Senior Staff Haematologist at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney. In addition to his role there, he is also a Consultant Haematologist at Prince of Wales Private Hospital and a Haematopathologist within SEALS, where he supervises the haemostasis laboratory at Randwick. Timothy has had an illustrious career spanning over two decades. He served as a Consultant Haematologist at St George Hospital from 1995-2005 before transitioning to his current position at Prince of Wales Hospital. Tim is a distinguished member of various international and regional medical associations, including ANZSBT, ASTH, HSANZ, ALLG, ASH, ISTH, among others. He has been an active member of ASTH council for many years and served as Councillor Treasurer for six years from 1999-2005. He currently continues to contribute as an ex-officio member to ASTH Council as Chair of the ASTH Clinical Trials Group and is a member of HSANZ Council. As an accomplished haematologist, Tim has dedicated his career to conducting clinical research and participates in various malignant and non-malignant sponsored and investigator initiated clinical research studies. His main clinical and research interests are discovering effective treatments for platelet disorders, bleeding disorders, and the investigation and management of thrombosis. Through his groundbreaking research, Timothy seeks to improve the lives of patients and make a difference in the medical field.
