Dr Tanveer Ahmed

Dr Ahmed's primary area of expertise lies in the field of psychiatry, specifically in the treatment of schizophrenia. However, he maintains a broad range of interests and has been increasingly focusing on working with adolescents, trauma patients, and individuals with mood disorders.

Recognizing the complexity of mental health conditions, Dr Ahmed understands that many presentations cannot be neatly categorized. Nevertheless, he is committed to providing comprehensive and personalized care for his patients aged between 13 and 70.

In addition to his private practice, Dr Ahmed serves as a Visiting Medical Officer for New England Medicare Local, covering regional areas. He also actively contributes to medical education, lecturing students at both the University of New England and the University of Western Sydney.

Dr Ahmed is accredited to provide medical treatment for Workcover, Third Party, and Comcare cases. He has also undergone forensic training in the jail system, further enhancing his expertise in the field of psychiatry.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr Ahmed is a published author, professional speaker, and media commentator. He serves as an elected councillor for the City of Canada Bay. In 2009, he was recognized as one of the future leaders of Australia under the age of 40 by a Prime Minister's committee.
