Dr Sharon Hodgson

Dr. Sharon Hodgson is a highly experienced psychiatrist based in Neutral Bay, Sydney. She specializes in general adult psychiatry and has a special interest in mood disorders, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and women's health. With over three decades of clinical experience, Dr. Hodgson is well-equipped to provide comprehensive and tailored care to her patients.

Dr. Hodgson obtained her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and subsequently completed her Fellowship in Psychiatry (FRANZCP) with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry. She has worked extensively in both private and public mental health sectors, gaining valuable experience in adult and aged-care settings. She has also provided acute mental health services in rural and remote areas of Western Australia and far North Queensland.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hodgson has been actively involved in supporting general practitioners in treating patients with mental health issues. She has served as a Director of Mental Health, providing mental health support through Rurallink/HealthDirect telephone services. Her dedication to enhancing mental health services extends to her involvement with GPPychSupport, where she provided guidance and assistance to GPs.

Currently, Dr. Hodgson practices at Ramsay Clinic Cremorne, where she offers outpatient psychiatric services. She has a particular interest in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders (including PTSD, OCD, and GAD), psychosis, relationship issues, perinatal disorders, and developmental trauma. Dr. Hodgson also specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients over the age of 65, including the management of agitated depression and memory loss.
