Dr Ritva Vyas

Dr Ritva Vyas is a highly skilled and experienced Dermatologist based in East Melbourne, Australia. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2002. Dr Vyas underwent specialty training in Dermatology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and achieved Fellowship status in 2016.

With a particular interest in vulval diseases, psoriasis, acne, autoimmune diseases of the skin, eczema, and general dermatology, Dr Vyas is committed to providing comprehensive and effective care to her patients. She also specialises in the treatment of hyperhidrosis, melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, and vitiligo.

Dr Vyas has an impressive academic background, having been awarded the Turnbull-Hodge Award and Trans-Tasman exchange scholarship in 2010. She furthered her dermatology expertise by completing a Fellowship in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, where she gained valuable experience in managing contact dermatitis and utilizing biologics in psoriasis treatment. Subsequently, she served as a cutaneous oncology fellow at the University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. During this time, Dr Vyas played a crucial role in multidisciplinary pigmented lesion and melanoma clinics and contributed to the multidisciplinary cutaneous oncology conference. Her involvement in the conference included providing recommendations for the care of patients with various skin cancers, such as melanoma, basal and squamous cell cancers, merkel cell cancer, cutaneous lymphomas, and other rare skin cancers.

Dr Vyas is actively engaged in research, with a focus on skin cancer epidemiology and melanoma. She has presented her findings at international conferences and has made contributions to esteemed journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology.
