Dr Rhonda A. Harvey is a dedicated and experienced dermatologist specialising in the management of skin cancer and melanoma. With a focus on dermatological cutaneous surgery (Mohs Surgery) and cosmetic (laser) procedural dermatology, Dr Harvey provides comprehensive and personalized care to her patients.

Dr Harvey completed her medical degree with honors at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 1999. During her undergraduate years, she gained valuable clinical experience through placements at prestigious institutions like the Departments of Plastic Surgery at Radcliffe Infirmary (Oxford Medical School, Oxford) and The Children’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School, Boston). These placements honed her skills in cutaneous surgery, setting the foundation for her future career.

Continuing her postgraduate training, Dr Harvey pursued a PhD in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinomas at the Cancer Research Program of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Concurrently, she also worked as a Basic Surgical Trainee with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, further expanding her knowledge and expertise.

To further deepen her understanding of dermatology, Dr Harvey undertook a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Dermatology Research Laboratories at the University of Sydney (USyd). This enabled her to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field and refine her research skills.

Her clinical dermatology training commenced in 2006 at renowned hospitals, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, and Westmead Hospital. Dr Harvey also completed rotations at the Skin & Cancer Foundation, both Darlinghurst and Westmead locations. During this period, she gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various dermatological conditions.

In recognition of her comprehensive training and expertise, Dr Harvey was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2010. As part of her continued commitment to excellence, she completed a Mohs Surgical Fellowship at the Skin & Cancer Foundation, Westmead in 2011. This additional training further enhanced her skills in dermatological cutaneous surgery.

Dr Harvey's professional interests include Skin Cancer & Melanoma Management, Mohs Surgery, Non-surgical Skin Cancer Management (including Photodynamic Therapy), Moderate to Severe Acne, Dermatitis & Eczema, Facial Pigmentation, Cosmetic and Non-cosmetic Laser. She is dedicated to providing high-quality care to her patients and staying at the forefront of advancements in dermatology.

In addition to her medical practice, Dr Harvey has contributed to extensive research in the field of dermatology. Her work has been published in reputable medical journals like Histopathology, Australasian Journal of Dermatology, and Clinical Cancer Research. She has also received numerous grants, prizes, and fellowships to support her research efforts.
