Dr Peter Chong

Peter is a highly experienced urologist who works in both public and private hospital settings. He is affiliated with Belmont District Hospital, the Royal Newcastle Centre, Lake Macquarie Private Hospital, and Charlestown Private Hospital. His medical expertise lies in the field of endourology, particularly minimally-invasive stone disease treatment and upper tract laparoscopy. He also specialises in treating lower urinary tract symptoms and urological cancers such as prostate, bladder, and kidney tumors.

Along with his medical practice, Peter is committed to patient education. He strives to empower his patients with knowledge about their conditions and treatment options, especially prior to any surgeries. Peter is highly regarded in the medical community for his dedication to teaching and has supervised many public hospital registrars. He has also contributed to the teaching programs of Hunter Post-graduate Medical Institute (HPMI) and participated in GPTVTC training of GP registrars.

Peter is now intensively involved in a study at the University of Newcastle and NSW. The research focuses on examining the decision-making process in urology oncology patients. His passion for urology and teaching continues to motivate him to strive for excellence in his medical practice.
