Dr Burns provides compassionate and effective care to individuals across various age groups including 18-60 and 60+. His specialized training and extensive clinical experience enable him to work with diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, doctors, psychiatrists or medical students, gender-diverse individuals, as well as gay and lesbian individuals, and military personnel and veterans.
Dr Burns offers comprehensive evaluations and evidence-based interventions for a wide range of mental health concerns. His expertise includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions such as ADHD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, mindfulness, obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, and supportive psychotherapy.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Burns also offers services in criminal medicolegal assessments and provides expert opinion and reports (MBS item 291). He is known for his proficiency in shared care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the holistic wellbeing of his patients.
