Dr Murray Blythe

Dr Murray Blythe is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot, ankle, hip, and knee surgeries. He currently practices in Joondalup, Perth, and is associated with Joondalup Private Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital, and Joondalup Health Campus.

With a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia, Dr Blythe has been providing personalized care to patients since 2000. He believes in establishing a strong doctor-patient partnership, ensuring patients are well-informed about their treatment options and the potential impact on their daily and sporting activities, as well as their overall quality of life.

Dr Blythe's clinical reasoning and surgical expertise make him proficient in a range of orthopaedic operations. His special interests include total hip replacements using the MAKO robot with DAA, total knee replacements, revision of failed replacements, foot and ankle surgery, as well as hip and knee arthroplasty.

Born and raised in Perth, Dr Blythe completed his internships and resident years at various hospitals, including Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and Dunedin Hospital in New Zealand. He completed his orthopaedic training in Western Australia through the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2011.

Additionally, Dr Blythe underwent fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty and revision at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, as well as in foot and ankle surgery at Universitätsspital in Basel, Switzerland, and the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australian Orthopaedic Association, Australian Medical Association, Australian Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, and the West Australian Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society.
