Dr Muhammad Imran

Dr Muhammad Imran is a highly skilled cardiologist based in Fairfield, Sydney, Australia. With a passion for patient care and a strong commitment to research, he has established himself as a leader in the field of cardiology.

Dr Imran obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with honors in 2005. Throughout his medical education, he achieved numerous medals and distinctions, showcasing his exceptional academic abilities.

After completing his basic physician and advanced cardiology training at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Dr Imran further pursued his academic career by successfully obtaining a PhD in heart transplantation and cardiac imaging. This specialization allowed him to gain comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field.

With extensive experience in general adult cardiology, Dr Imran is proficient in various aspects of cardiac care. He focuses on primary prevention with risk factor modification, dyslipidaemia management, ischemic heart disease, rhythm issues, valvular heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiomyopathies.

In addition to his clinical skills, Dr Imran is trained in several major cardiac procedures. These include echocardiogram, stress ECG and stress echocardiogram, holter and ambulatory BP monitoring, DC cardioversion, diagnostic angiograms, device interrogations (PPM and AICD checks), right-heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsies, as well as CT coronary angiogram (CTCA).

He has been involved in multiple research projects at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. His dedication to advancing cardiac care has been recognized with various national and international awards. This includes the President Prize (clinical) at the Transplant Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) in 2016, the Young Investigator Award at TSANZ in the same year, and the Early Career Award Finalist (translational) at the International Society of Cardiac MR (SCMR) scientific sessions in the USA in 2016. He was also awarded the regional scholarship award at SCMR-2016 for the Australia-New Zealand region and was a Ralph Reader Finalist (clinical) at the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) in 2016.
