Dr Michaela Lee

Dr Michaela Lee is a greatly respected Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Auchenflower, Brisbane, Australia. With a specialization in gynaecology, Dr Lee offers her patients comprehensive care and expertise in both obstetrics and gynaecologic medicine.

Having obtained her medical degree from the University of Vienna, Austria in 1996, Dr Lee started her training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University Hospital in Vienna in 1999. During her time there, she worked in a renowned Fertility Clinic, gaining invaluable experience in clinical work and research.

Dr Lee's dedication to her field led her to the United States, where she served as a Research Fellow at the Maternal Fetal Medicine Centre at the Cedar Sinai Medical Centre. Under the guidance of Prof Larry Platt, she actively participated in high-risk pregnancy ultrasound clinics, performing nuchal translucency ultrasounds, first-trimester screenings, and morphology ultrasounds. Additionally, she conducted research projects using 3D ultrasound technology.

In 2003, Dr Lee relocated to Australia and secured a registrar position at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital (RBWH). During her six years at RBWH, she honed her skills in managing various women's health issues and complications related to pregnancy. Her expertise expanded further during her tenure at Redcliffe Hospital, where she gained invaluable experience in gynaecological surgery.

Driven by her passion for helping couples struggling with fertility issues, Dr Lee affiliated with Monash IVF in early 2014. This partnership allows her to provide her patients with a broader range of advanced fertility medicine options.

As an Obstetrician, Dr Lee specialises in pregnancies that are complicated by conditions such as diabetes, thyroid function disorders, heart conditions, clotting diseases, multiple pregnancies, and breech presentation. In the realm of gynaecology, her special interests encompass menstrual abnormalities, post-menopausal bleeding, management of abnormal PAP smears, early pregnancy complications, fertility counseling, and the management of incontinence.
