Prof Michael Shatwell

Prof Michael Shatwell is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in general orthopaedic procedures. With over four decades of experience in the field, Prof Shatwell brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his patients. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in General Surgery in 1979 after graduating from Liverpool Medical School in 1974.

Prof Shatwell then pursued his passion for orthopaedic surgery, earning a Mastership in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1981. He further honed his skills during his tenure as a Lecturer in Orthopaedics at Liverpool University, where he also held clinical duties at renowned institutions such as the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Halton General Hospital, and Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

For 15 years, Prof Shatwell served as the Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wanganui Hospital, leading a team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients in need.
