Dr Mark Haber is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and upper limb surgeries. He is based in Sydney, 2000, and is affiliated with Wollongong Private Hospital. Dr Haber obtained his MBBS degree from the University of New South Wales in 1982 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedics in 1995.
With over three decades of experience, Dr Haber has developed a special interest in various aspects of shoulder surgeries. These include arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and shoulder stabilization surgery, computer-navigated shoulder replacement surgery, shoulder ultrasounds, and labral repairs.
Throughout his career, Dr Haber has achieved notable recognition for his contributions to the field. He received The Richard B. Caspari Award for the best upper limb paper at The 7th Biennial ISAKOS Congress in Osaka, Japan in 2009. He was also honored with the best paper award from The Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia in May 2010. In addition, his work was recognized in the "best posters category" at The 14th (ESSKA 2000) Congress held in Oslo, Norway in June 2010.
Dr Haber has published various research papers on topics such as determining the contribution of active stiffness to reduced range of motion in frozen shoulder, biomechanical contact properties of rotator cuff repairs, and the influence of intraoperative factors and postoperative rehabilitation compliance on the integrity of the rotator cuff.
