Dr Kujan Nagaratnam

Dr. Kujan Nagaratnam is a highly skilled physician with over 30 years of experience. He earned his Medical degree from the University of New South Wales and pursued his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Stroke Medicine at distinguished institutions such as Westmead Hospital and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1997, and later received specialized training in Stroke and Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Nagaratnam has held several senior staff specialist positions at Westmead Public Hospital and Blacktown-Mt. Druitt Hospitals, and currently practices as a private consultant. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medicine at The University of Sydney, where he enjoys teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. He has authored two textbooks and has co-authored numerous research papers, with a particular interest in stroke medicine, cognitive impairment and dementia, neurological diseases in the elderly, and perioperative medical management of elderly patients. Dr. Nagaratnam is affiliated with several prominent hospitals in Sydney, including Westmead Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, The Hills Private Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital. In addition to his clinical work and academic pursuits, Dr. Nagaratnam is dedicated to ongoing professional development and training. He has been running a perioperative fellowship program for the past seven years, successfully training and mentoring a new generation of physicians in the application of evidence-based medicine to the care of elderly patients undergoing surgery. Dr. Nagaratnam is widely respected for his compassionate approach, his deep commitment to patient care, and his contributions to medical education and research.
