Dr Khalil Soniwala

Dr Khalil Soniwala is a highly experienced and respected paediatrician based in Bruce, Canberra. With nearly two decades of exclusive paediatric and neonatology experience, Dr Soniwala is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to children and their families.

Dr Soniwala completed his specialist training at renowned institutions such as the Canberra Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick, and The Children's Hospital at Westmead. In recognition of his expertise and commitment to the field, he was awarded a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015.

Before relocating to Australia with his family in 2010, Dr Soniwala worked as a qualified paediatrician in India and also served as a senior paediatric medical officer in Brunei. In Australia, he further honed his skills by undertaking additional training in paediatric emergency medicine.

For six years, Dr Soniwala served as a consultant paediatrician in Wagga Wagga, where he gained valuable experience and established himself as a trusted medical professional in the community. During this time, he also held the position of senior lecturer and examiner at The University of New South Wales.

Currently, Dr Soniwala provides private paediatric inpatient services at The Canberra Hospital, Calvary Bruce Public Hospital, and John James Hospital. His practice encompasses a wide range of neonatal and paediatric medicine, with a special focus on child development, behavioural and learning concerns, including autism and ADHD.

Drawing from both his clinical expertise and personal experience as a father of two young children and a teenager, Dr Soniwala takes a compassionate and balanced approach to caring for his patients and their families. His thorough and empathetic nature ensures that each child receives the individualized care and attention they need.

Dr Soniwala actively contributes to the medical community as a representative of the ACT chapter in the RACP ACT/NSW regional committee. He continues to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of paediatrics, allowing him to provide the highest standard of care to his patients.
