Dr Keshav Bhattarai

Dr. Bhattarai is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a passion for medical excellence. After completing his medical degree with numerous accolades from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, he undertook a General Surgery fellowship under the guidance of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He then immersed himself in a Cardiothoracic surgical training program at the Royal Prince Alfred, Prince of Wales, and Liverpool Hospitals in Sydney, as well as at The Canberra Hospital with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons until early 2011.

Dr. Bhattarai became a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at The Canberra Hospital, where he played a vital role in establishing the new Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit at Chitwan Medical College in Nepal. He also involved himself with the Cardiac Surgical Unit at the prestigious Grande International Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. His abundant professional knowledge and skill in handling some of the most complex cases have earned him a reputation of a dedicated and skilled surgeon.

Dr. Bhattarai relocated to Tasmania in 2015, where he is presently working as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He carries out his medical duties with an unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication. Additionally, he serves as a Visiting Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Hobart Private Hospital and Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital, where his expertise is highly valued.

As a renowned medical professional, Dr. Bhattarai is responsible for overseeing the training of Cardiothoracic Surgical Trainees in Tasmania. He is also an active participant in training and selection activities for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and holds membership with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons (ANZSCTS), as well as Fellowships of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCSEd).
