George is a highly skilled medical professional with a strong clinical interest in diagnosing undifferentiated presentations, using diagnostic testing appropriately, and providing minimally disruptive medicine to patients with multiple medical problems. He has extensive experience in managing acute infections in hospitalized patients and chronic or recurrent infections treated on an outpatient basis.
George graduated with honors from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2009 and subsequently underwent training in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. In recognition of his outstanding performance during his training, he was awarded the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Medal in 2013.
In addition to his vast clinical experience, George holds a PhD in the management of bloodstream infection and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne. He is recognized for his research work in the appropriate duration of antibiotic therapy for common infections and the management of bloodstream infections and endocarditis.
