Dr Elizabeth Brown is a highly experienced respiratory and sleep physician with extensive knowledge in treating non-respiratory sleep disorders such as insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome, as well as obstructive sleep apnoea with orthodontic treatment. She is also an expert in managing chronic cough, bronchiectasis, and suppurative lung diseases. Her passion for assisting patients with cystic fibrosis has led her to develop a patient-centric service at Prince of Wales Hospital.
Elizabeth earned her degree from the University of New South Wales and completed her FRACP with sleep and respiratory training at Prince of Wales Hospital. She has been a conjoint associate lecturer at UNSW since 2006 and has been involved in teaching medical students and FRACP candidates since then. Elizabeth furthered her education in sleep medicine and received the level 2 sleep distinction award in 2009. She also completed her PhD in neuromuscular activation and mechanics of the upper airway in obstructive sleep apnoea from Neurosciences Research Australia in 2012.
In recognition of her dedication and outstanding performance, Elizabeth received the ResMed Foundations Scholarship from the RACP in 2008. She has been instrumental in emphasizing the importance of education and asthma action plan implementation to attain total control of asthma. Her long-term goal is to provide quality healthcare services to patients in need and empower medical professionals to advocate for their patients by conducting research and sharing her expertise.
