Dr Elisabeth Cannon

Dr Cannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Medicine (BSc(Med)), along with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).

With her expertise in psychiatry, Dr Cannon has a special interest in the treatment of schizophrenia. She is also experienced in dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, neuropsychiatry, cognitive disorders, and older persons psychiatry.

Dr Cannon provides her services to individuals within the age groups of 18-60 and 60+. She has experience working with various patient demographics including doctors, psychiatrists, medical students, individuals with gender diversity, those with intellectual disability, intersex individuals, military and veterans, individuals with physical disability, and emergency services personnel.

In her practice, Dr Cannon utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy, addiction counseling, ADHD management, cognitive behavioural therapy, dementia-related disorders, depression treatment, developmental disability support, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, obsessive-compulsive disorder management, pain management, post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, psychosis management, and supportive psychotherapy.

Dr Cannon offers a variety of services including civil medicolegal assessments, providing professional opinions and reports (MBS item 291), professional supervision, shared care management, urgent assessments, and is available to provide healthcare support for COVID-19 workers.
