Dr Dean Yeh is a highly qualified surgeon, who received his medical degree from the University of Newcastle in 2001. He completed his training in general surgery at several prestigious hospitals including Concord Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, and Royal North Shore Hospital. Dr Yeh was awarded with a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. Later, he decided to focus on minimally invasive surgery and became interested in robotic surgery. He completed two years of advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Dr Yeh's passion for robotic surgery led him to undertake an additional fellowship in robotic colorectal surgery at two renowned centres. For over 12 months, he trained under Professor Seon-Hahn Kim at Korea University Anam Hospital in Seoul, South Korea and Professor David Jayne at St James University Hospital in Leeds, UK. During his fellowship, Dr Yeh co-authored a chapter in the book titled “Robotic Approaches to Colorectal Surgery” with Professor Kim. Apart from his medical expertise, Dr Yeh is also fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and English, which is an asset in communicating with patients from diverse backgrounds.
