Mr David Syme

David is an experienced Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specialises in hand and wrist surgery. After graduating in 2000, David completed extensive surgical training in Australia before embarking on specialized training overseas. He held a variety of registrar positions in leading Plastic Surgery Units across Melbourne, including The Royal Melbourne, St Vincent’s, The Alfred, The Royal Children’s, Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit, and Monash Health, where he gained valuable expertise in the field of Plastic Surgery.

David has a strong educational background, having completed his Masters of Surgery and FRACS (plast.). Additionally, he underwent further two-year training in hand and wrist surgery in the UK and Europe, where he received specialized training from some of the world’s top Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgical experts. That makes him stand out as one of the few Plastic Surgeons in Australia qualified to treat all hand and wrist conditions.

As an active Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Australian Hand Surgery Society, David is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for his patients. He holds public appointments at Peninsula Health and Monash Health, where he utilises his skills to improve the lives of his patients.
