Dr Grout obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney in 1971. He further honed his skills and knowledge by completing his fellowship in cardiology at Southampton in the United Kingdom and at the Royal Perth Hospital.
