Dr David Carolane

Dr David Carolane is an experienced paediatrician based in Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Melbourne in 1977, before undertaking specialist training in paediatrics at the renowned Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. He further honed his skills during his final two years of training at the Bristol Maternity Hospital in the United Kingdom.

Upon his return to Melbourne, Dr Carolane joined the Royal Women's Hospital in 1985 as a consultant paediatrician. In addition to his primary role, he also served as the Deputy Director of The Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS). Dr Carolane began his foray into private practice in 1987, while still maintaining his involvement with the follow-up clinics at the Royal Women's Hospital. It was during this time that he established a fruitful association with Frances Perry House. Though he has a keen interest in neonatal care, Dr Carolane is also a General Paediatrician, providing comprehensive care to children of all ages in his rooms at the Royal Women's Hospital.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr Carolane has provided exceptional care to newborn infants at various maternity hospitals in Melbourne, including St George's Hospital, St Vincent's Private Hospital, Freemasons Maternity Hospital, Cabrini Hospital, and Masada Hospital. Presently, his neonatal work primarily focuses on caring for babies at Frances Perry House, specialising in level 1 and level 2 neonatal care.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr Carolane is a passionate advocate for healthy living. During his leisure time, he can often be found engrossed in literature, enjoying a game of golf, or cherishing precious moments with his four children and grandchild.
