Dr Danielle Delaney's profile

Dr. Danielle Delaney is an accredited urologist with extensive experience in both adult and pediatric urology. She graduated from the University of Sydney and the Northern Clinical School at Royal North Shore Hospital before completing her formal urology training in Victoria. Dr. Delaney then returned to Sydney to gain a fellowship in pediatric urology at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick. More recently, she has operated her private practice, offering her services to both adults and children in need of urological care.

Dr. Delaney has a special interest in endoscopic urology, including renal calculi and bladder cancer in adults, as well as congenital kidney and bladder pathology, renal calculi, and voiding issues among children. She provides antenatal consultations for congenital urological conditions, which usually involve complex pregnancies of both maternal and fetal origin. Dr. Delaney has extensive experience in kidney and bladder stone surgery and is one of the few accredited urologists who can operate on children with kidney stones. Moreover, she is involved in NSW pediatric multi-disciplinary stone service at Sydney Children's Hospital Network. As one of the few female urological surgeons in Sydney, Dr. Delaney can provide empathetic care to those patients who prefer a female surgeon.

Dr. Delaney operates her private practice at North Shore Private Hospital and The Castlecrag Private Hospital and is also a VMO at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, where both public and private pediatric patients can be admitted. She offers the Yellow Spot Clinic, a GP-led service specialising in multi-disciplinary children's continence care on Sydney's lower North Shore. Dr. Delaney provides direct access cystoscopy services at Castlecrag Private Hospital for patients with haematuria, recurrent urinary tract infections, or lower urinary tract symptoms.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Delaney has a special interest in functional urology, which seeks to optimize bladder function from birth to death. She has improved management of continence issues for children and adolescents at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and has participated in two international clinical trials for overactive bladder (OAB) in adolescents and neurogenic bladder in children and adolescents. Dr. Delaney often works as a proctor instructing urological colleagues on sacral neuromodulation for urinary incontinence. She has been recognized as an expert in managing refractory OAB and is often requested to speak on behalf of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Continence Foundation of Australia, including facilitating workshops on intravesical Botulinum toxin A. Dr. Delaney performs urodynamics evaluations in her clinic utilising ultrasound to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation. She is also able to provide a complete range of management for urinary incontinence, including stress urinary incontinence, and works in conjunction with Northcott to provide urological care to children and adults with Spina bifida and complex continence issues. Besides, Dr. Delaney also treats patients with urological conditions resulting from Multiple Sclerosis and spinal cord injury.
