Dr Benjamin Chia

Dr Chia holds several qualifications including a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne in 2004, and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2015.

With a special interest in youth mental health, Dr Chia is dedicated to providing quality care to patients of all ages. His expertise encompasses a wide range of mental health conditions including but not limited to ADHD, PTSD, personality disorders, OCD, depression, anxiety, addiction, and telepsychiatry.

Dr Chia is a member of the Rural Doctors Association of Australia and understands the unique challenges faced by individuals seeking mental health services in rural areas. Recognizing the importance of access to quality care, Dr Chia co-founded Call to Mind, a platform aimed at addressing the issue.

In his private practice located in Melbourne's western suburbs, Dr Chia offers a genuine and open-minded approach to address various mental health concerns. He provides a range of services such as civil medicolegal assessments, insurance opinions/reports, professional supervision, shared care, and weekly psychotherapy. Additionally, Dr Chia offers after-hours appointments to accommodate the needs of his patients.

Dr Chia's treatment approaches include acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). His expertise extends to conditions such as addiction, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and psychosis.
