Dr Anthony O'Neill

Dr Anthony O'Neill is a prominent orthopaedic surgeon based in Wellington Point, Brisbane. His expertise lies in the management and treatment of sports-related injuries, with a special focus on knee and shoulder surgery. With qualifications including an M.B,B.S., FRACS, and FAOrthA, Dr O'Neill is a highly qualified and experienced orthopaedic surgeon.

Dr O'Neill completed his undergraduate education in anatomy at the University of Queensland before obtaining his medical degree. He furthered his training by working in hospitals in Brisbane and the UK prior to pursuing his orthopaedic training in Queensland. In 2012, he was awarded fellowship, allowing him to practice as an orthopaedic surgeon.

To enhance his skills, Dr O'Neill undertook a shoulder surgery fellowship program at the Cape Shoulder Institute and Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. Collaborating with renowned surgeon Dr Joe De Beer, he perfected his techniques in managing sports-related shoulder injuries, as well as primary and revision shoulder joint replacements.

Following this, Dr O'Neill completed a knee fellowship program at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Fortius Clinic in London. In this role, he worked alongside Mr Andy Williams and Mr Jonathon Lavelle, specializing in knee-related injuries and performing procedures such as meniscal preservation surgery, multi-ligament injuries, osteotomies, and knee replacements.

Dr O'Neill is highly responsive and available to handle emergency orthopaedic cases, in addition to scheduled appointments. He even maintains emergency slots to accommodate unexpected acute cases.
