Dr Andrew Cotterill is a paediatrician specialising in endocrinology, based in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Dr Cotterill began his career at The Wesley Hospital in 2014, where he currently serves as the principal of Queensland Paediatric Endocrinology. He has a diverse background in both adult and children's medicine and officially became a paediatrician (specialist children's physician) in 1988. In 1993, he obtained accreditation as a paediatric endocrinologist. Dr Cotterill possesses medical qualifications from both the United Kingdom and Australia.

Throughout his career, Dr Cotterill has made significant contributions to the field of paediatric endocrinology. He led the paediatric endocrinology unit at Mater Children's Hospital from 1996 and played an instrumental role in the transition of the Mater and Royal Children's Hospital's paediatric endocrinology departments to the prestigious Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in 2014.

Recognizing the need for specialised care in regional areas, Dr Cotterill regularly conducts outreach clinics in centres such as Bundaberg, Rockhampton, and Gladstone, ensuring access to paediatric endocrinology services.

Dr Cotterill has actively participated in research and clinical care collaboration through his presidency of the Australian Paediatric Endocrine Group. This role has facilitated the sharing of knowledge and advancements in research and patient care among paediatric endocrinologists across Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, he serves as an associate professor at the University of Queensland, where he shares his valuable expertise with future generations of doctors.

Dr Cotterill's special interests include Type 1 Diabetes (including Pump Therapy), Thyroid Disorders (Congenital Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's Disease, Grave's Disease), Pituitary and Adrenal Disorders, Delayed and Precocious Puberty, Gender Dysphoria, and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Apart from his professional accomplishments, Dr Cotterill leads a fulfilling personal life. He is married and proud father of three children, who have grown into remarkable adults.
