Dr Alexander Gin

Dr Alexander Gin is a consultant dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) at the University of Melbourne in 2011, and went on to achieve his Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2019.

His professional journey has taken him to various tertiary hospitals, including The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Dr Gin also spent two years working in the United Kingdom, where he completed a fellowship in Dermatology and Lymphovascular Medicine at St George’s Hospital in London.

Dr Gin's special interests in dermatology include skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and paediatric conditions. He is particularly passionate about dermatology in the developing world, and has devoted his time to volunteering in Tanzania and Myanmar.

Recognized for his excellence in clinical dermatology, Dr Gin was awarded the Herman Lawrence Prize. His research has been published in various medical journals and presented at national and international conferences.

Apart from his private practice, Dr Gin also serves as a consultant dermatologist at The Alfred Hospital. In this role, he actively participates in the education of medical students and dermatology trainees. Dr Gin's commitment to sharing his expertise extends to lecturing at several GP training workshops.
