Dr Yik Lim is a highly qualified and accomplished obstetrician and gynecologist with extensive expertise in urogynaecology. He completed his medical degree at the prestigious University of Melbourne, followed by specialist training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Victoria. Dr Lim then spent four years undertaking further subspecialty training in urogynaecology in Queensland and Victoria, working under the guidance of four leading urogynaecologists in Australia. During this time, he was the recipient of multiple awards, including the Brown Craig Travelling Scholarship, the Bill Boyd Black Bottle Award, and the Christopher Kohlenberg medal for best research presentations. He also received the AMS Travelling Scholarship to attend the ICS meeting in the Netherlands, thanks to his top-scoring subspecialty examination in urogynaecology in Australia.
Dr Lim was awarded his fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) in 2004 and his subspecialty Certificate in Urogynaecology (CU) in 2007. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Urogynaecology at Mercy Hospital for Women and as the Oceania Representative of the International Advisory Board of the International Urogynecologic Association (IUGA). He is also an Examiner in the Urogynaecology Subspecialty of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG).
Dr Lim is an active and respected member of various professional organisations, including the Urogynaecological Society of Australasia (UGSA), of which he was Secretary and Education Subcommittee Chair from 2009 to 2014, and the Continence Foundation of Australia (CFA). He has published over 20 manuscripts in national and international journals and regularly facilitates various surgical, anatomical, and hands-on workshops in the field of urogynaecology. Dr Lim’s dedication to advancing the field of urogynaecology is evident in his achievements, and he continues to be a valued asset to the medical community.
