Dr Tim Nicholson is an experienced urological surgeon with a passion for rural surgical practice, stone disease, and oncology. He completed his MB BS degree from The University of Sydney in 1989 and went on to receive his urological training from various renowned institutions such as The Canberra Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, Westmead Hospital Sydney, and The Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, England. In 1999, he achieved FRACS (Urol) and began his practice as a Urological Surgeon in Orange, where he could pursue his interests in rural surgical practice and urological diseases.
Dr Nicholson is an active participant in medical student teaching and has served as a supervisor of surgical and urological trainees, sharing his vast knowledge and experience with fellow medical professionals. He has also introduced new techniques in urological surgery to the region, including neo-bladder formation after cystectomy, laparoscopic renal surgery and laser stone surgery.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, Dr Nicholson is a dedicated family man with a wife and two daughters, one of whom has followed in his footsteps and pursued a career in medicine. His commitment to rural surgical practice and continued efforts to improve patient outcomes are a testament to his passion for helping others and providing quality healthcare services.
