Dr Steven Morris

Dr. Stephen Morris is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the United Kingdom, and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He holds a Diploma of Child Health from The University of Sydney. Dr. Morris completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney and undertook his residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He served as a senior registrar at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, where he gained membership with RANZCOG. Dr. Morris gained international experience over four years, starting with two years at the National Maternity Hospital and the Rotunda in Dublin, followed by a year at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital in London. He also worked for a year at Hospital Cochin in Paris. Upon returning to Australia, he worked as a staff specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, focusing on high-risk obstetrics, before starting his private practice as a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist in 2002. Dr. Morris provides compassionate and professional obstetric and gynaecological care for women, before, during, and after pregnancy and childbirth. In what can be an exciting yet uncertain time, Dr. Morris works with women and their partners to facilitate a successful and enjoyable birth process. He believes in a non-judgmental environment where all options surrounding the birth of a child can be discussed, aiming to find the right birthing experience for each individual. Dr. Morris supports natural births, including water birth, vaginal twin birth, and external cephalic version (ECV) at term. He also performs operative obstetrics, including instrumental deliveries and Caesarean sections, when necessary. Beyond his extensive experience and understanding of high-risk obstetrics, Dr. Morris employs a team of experienced midwives, including a lactation consultant, to assist throughout the entire journey.
