A/Prof Satish Karunakaran

A/Prof Karunakaran has expertise in a wide range of mental health conditions including addiction, ADHD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, brain injury, conversion disorder, dementia-related disorders, depression, developmental disability, eating disorders, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), obsessive-compulsive disorders, pain management, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and schizophrenia. His specializations also include neuropsychiatry, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality issues, and substance abuse problems.

With a keen interest in medico-legal assessments, A/Prof Karunakaran provides services such as civil medicolegal, criminal medicolegal, family court medicolegal evaluations. He is also adept in providing opinions and reports (MBS item 291), shared care, and workcover assessments. Notably, he offers bulk-billing for selected patients.

A/Prof Karunakaran values the importance of providing accessible healthcare, and as such, he offers telehealth services in addition to in-person consultations. This enables patients to conveniently access his expertise regardless of their location.
