Dr Ramakrishna Bhavanishankar

Dr Ramakrishna Bhavanishankar is a consultant Psychiatrist with extensive training in the United Kingdom and Australia. He currently serves as a staff specialist for a busy Community mental health team, as well as in Rehabilitation. Collaborating closely with General Practitioners and Allied Health professionals, Dr Bhavanishankar prioritizes realistic and optimal treatment outcomes for his patients.

Dr Bhavanishankar's areas of expertise include early intervention, mood disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia, anxiety, PTSD, adult ADHD, and personality disorders. He is also an Assessor for permanent impairment of work capacity.

With fluency in English, Kannada, and Hindi, Dr Bhavanishankar effectively communicates with patients from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Having obtained his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from Bangalore University in India in 2000, Dr Bhavanishankar furthered his education with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2012, becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK in 2007, and acquiring an AMC Certificate from the Australian Medical Council in 2009.
