A/Prof Peter Foley

Assoc. Prof Peter Foley is a clinical dermatologist based in Pakenham, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. With over 30 years of experience, he specialises in dermatology, particularly in the treatment of psoriasis. He is highly regarded in his field and has contributed significantly to the advancement of dermatological research internationally.

As Australia's only councillor on the International Psoriasis Council, Peter is actively involved in shaping global dermatological practices. He has also served on the steering committee of GRAPPA (Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis), further demonstrating his dedication to improving the understanding and treatment of psoriasis.

Currently, Peter holds multiple esteemed positions, including Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine (Dermatology) at the University of Melbourne. Peter is a visiting dermatologist at the Photobiology, Phototherapy, and Biologics Clinics at St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, as well as the Phototherapy and Biologics Clinics at the Skin Health Institute.

As the Director of Research, Peter plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Skin Health Institute's clinical trials program, which is continuously expanding. He is also the co-convener of the Australasian Psoriasis Registry, supporting the collation and analysis of data to improve treatment outcomes for patients.

Notably, he has been involved in the pivotal trials of biologics in psoriasis and has participated as an investigator in more than 100 clinical trials, many of which focused on the development of novel therapies for psoriasis.
