Associate Professor Peter Chin is an accomplished urologist with over 20 years of experience in the field, having completed his urological training in 2000 after graduating from The University of Adelaide. As a Clinical Associate Professor at Wollongong University School of Medicine, he is dedicated to teaching and mentoring medical students to ensure that the next generation of healthcare professionals has the knowledge and clinical skills that they need to provide excellent patient care.
Dr Chin is a widely published researcher with a contemporary approach to urology. He has particular expertise in the management of enlarged prostates, laparoscopic surgery, uro-oncology, and prosthetic surgery for incontinence and impotence. Through his research and clinical experience, he has identified and implemented pioneering treatments to enhance the quality of life of his patients.
Dr Chin’s unique skills and experience make him an expert in a variety of urological procedures. He is an advocate of the minimally invasive surgical approach, utilising treatments such as Urolift, Green Light laser, and robotic and retropubic prostatectomy surgeries to provide his patients with minimally invasive options that help minimize complications and promote faster healing and recovery times. He also specialises in endoscopic surgery for stone disease and clinical trials for new advances in incontinence treatment.
With his outstanding service to the community, Dr Chin has become a leader in the field of urology. He was the first to lead research trials for the Urolift device and has been a significant contributor to advances in BPH treatment options. With his continued commitment to innovation and research, Dr. Chin has earned a reputation as a respected expert, and his contributions have provided patients with transformative treatment options that positively impact their quality of life.
