Dr Pasan Manawadu

Dr Pasan Manawadu is a psychiatrist based in Geelong, Victoria. He obtained his MD (HONS) degree and went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in psychiatry (PGDIP(Psy)) and a master's degree in psychiatry (MDPsych).

With over 18 years of experience, Dr Manawadu is well-versed in various areas of psychiatry. His special interests lie in general adult psychiatry, and he has a particular focus on working with patients diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Dr Manawadu has extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of mental health conditions, including addiction, ADHD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. His experience spans across different demographics, including asylum seekers and refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, doctors, psychiatrists or medical students, gender diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, those with intellectual disabilities, Maori communities, military and veterans, non-English speaking individuals, and families.

In addition to English, Dr Manawadu is fluent in Russian and Sinhala, which allows him to effectively communicate with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. He also has experience working with interpreters to ensure clear and accurate communication is maintained.

Dr Manawadu offers a range of services, including civil medicolegal assessments, family court medicolegal evaluations, insurance opinions and reports, opinion and report services (MBS item 291), and he is also a registered WorkCover provider.
