Dr Hogden received his ophthalmic surgical training in Queensland and served as a Senior Registrar at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Seeking further specialization, he underwent subspecialty fellowship training in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery at the Oxford Eye Hospital and Bristol Eye Hospital.
