Dr Michael Devadas

Dr Michael Devadas is a dedicated Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon, specialising in minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for his patients and is renowned for his expertise in stomach and oesophageal cancer surgery, anti-reflux surgery, hernia surgery and bariatric (weight-loss) surgical procedures. He takes a patient-centered approach, providing personalised care that takes into account each individual's unique circumstances.

Dr Devadas completed his fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. He then underwent advanced training in gastro-oesophageal surgery through the highly competitive, Australia and New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Association. Dr Devadas earned his medical degree from Sydney University with honours and has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Medical Radiation Science, Nuclear Medicine from the same institution.

With extensive training at Westmead, Liverpool, Nepean, Coffs Harbour, Orange, Broken Hill and Royal North Shore hospitals, Dr Devadas is well versed in treating general and acute surgical conditions, as well as trauma surgery. As an instructor for the Early Management of Severe Trauma course, he is a member of the Academy of Surgical Educators. Additionally, he has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons’ clinical examinations.

Dr Devadas has been employed as a clinical academic in Nuclear Medicine by Sydney University and has published medical research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
