Dr Matthew Rowe

Dr Matthew Rowe is a highly qualified and experienced cardiologist based in Southport, Gold Coast, Australia. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the prestigious University of Queensland in 2009. Dr Rowe completed his general medical training before specialising in Cardiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. In recognition of his expertise and achievements, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017.

Driven by a passion for continual learning and innovation, Dr Rowe pursued further training in Pacing and Electrophysiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, which led him to spend two years at the London Health Sciences Centre in Canada. During this time, he focused on ablation techniques for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, as well as complex cardiac device management.

Dr Rowe has contributed extensively to the field of cardiology through his research publications in reputable medical journals. His research interests encompass various topics, including physiological pacing, atrial fibrillation, and genetically inherited arrhythmias. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Rowe holds the position of Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland and is actively involved in teaching medical students from Griffith University.

With his clinical expertise and interest in heart rhythm disorders, pacemakers and defibrillators, ablation of arrhythmias, and genetically inherited cardiac conditions, Dr Rowe currently serves as a Staff Specialist Electrophysiologist at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital. He also consults at the Specialist Suites and performs procedures at the Gold Coast Private Hospital. Dr Rowe is committed to providing high-quality care and working closely with patients to manage and treat their cardiovascular conditions.
