Dr Mark Perrin

Dr Mark Perrin is a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2000. Dr Perrin further pursued his career in cardiology by completing his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2007. Dr Perrin has also pursued a research-oriented path, obtaining a PhD from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Sydney. His research focused on inherited arrhythmia syndromes. Following his PhD, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Ottawa Heart Institute in Canada, further exploring inherited arrhythmia syndromes. Dr Perrin has contributed to several publications in prominent scientific journals, highlighting his dedication to the field. Having gained valuable experience and expertise abroad, Dr Perrin has returned to Australia and currently holds a public appointment at the Geelong University Hospital. He has additional private appointments at St John of God and Geelong Private Hospitals. Dr Perrin's specialization lies in advanced management of atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias using catheter ablation techniques. He possesses the necessary skills and knowledge required to perform procedures such as catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmia, and the management of inherited arrhythmia syndromes including Long QT, Short QT, Brugada Syndrome, ARVC, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Dr Perrin is also experienced in implanting pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization devices, and defibrillators.
