Dr Lindy Schur

Dr Lindy Schur is a consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist who specializes in the field of psychiatry, particularly schizophrenia. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and is an accredited examiner for the College. Dr Schur obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Witwatersrand University in South Africa in 1987, specializing in Psychiatry with a Master's degree (MMed Psych.).

With over 20 years of experience, Dr Schur has developed expertise in mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders in adults. She has worked in both private practice and the public sector, gaining extensive experience and knowledge in her field. Her specific areas of interest include post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar affective disorder, complex grief reaction (related to depression), women's mental health, and adolescent mental health (ages 16 and above), specifically its manifestation in school settings during Years 11 and 12.

Dr Schur provides a comprehensive range of psychotherapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Process Oriented Psychotherapy (POP), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, alongside pharmacotherapy (medication). She brings a multidimensional approach to her practice, offering a holistic treatment plan tailored to each individual's needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Schur also offers professional supervision and weekly psychotherapy services. She has experience working with doctors, psychiatrists, medical students, as well as military personnel and veterans.

Dr Schur consults at The Hills Clinic Hornsby rooms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. She is also able to provide telehealth services, enabling remote access to her expertise.
