Dr. Li's journey in the field of ophthalmology began with his core ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital. After completing his training, he further advanced his skills in general ophthalmology in Geelong, Victoria. Seeking additional expertise, Dr. Li pursued a prestigious oculoplastic and orbital fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom in 2017. During this fellowship, he specialised in surgery of the eyelid, tear duct, and eye socket, gaining extensive knowledge and experience in the field.

Upon returning to Australia, Dr. Li chose to settle in the scenic city of Mackay and established Whitsunday Eye Surgery in 2017. Since then, he has been dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care services to the community of Mackay and the Whitsundays region.

Dr. Li's extensive qualifications showcase his commitment to excellence in his field. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, which he obtained in 2005, and an MBBS degree from the same institution, also completed in 2005. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science (with First Class Honors) in Molecular Biology from the University of Auckland, achieved in 1998, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Statistics, obtained in 1996, from the same university. Dr. Li is recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO), solidifying his expertise in the field.
