Dr Joan Haliburn

With her extensive experience and expertise in psychiatry, Dr Haliburn provides a range of services to her patients. She specializes in child, adolescent, family, and adult psychiatry, offering comprehensive care tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Dr Haliburn also has a special interest in psychotherapy, which she utilizes to address complex trauma, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, separation anxiety, school refusal, major depression, and suicide ideation/attempts.

In addition to her primary practice, Dr Haliburn is well-versed in working with individuals who engage in self-harming behavior and those experiencing early psychosis (excluding established schizophrenia and chronic psychotic disorder). She also focuses on the assessment and treatment of parent-infant-child dyads where attachment issues contribute to the child's presenting difficulties.
